Lucy founded Vantage Finance nearly twelve years ago. Her vision was to create a business built on communication, expertise, efficiency and determination. More than a decade on, and Vantage Finance is one of the UK’s leading master brokers.
Lucy is responsible for the strategic direction of the business. She is closely involved in the development of her team and has always placed huge importance on building relationships with Vantage’s intermediaries and introducer partners. Lucy’s tenacity and determination to deliver exceptional results lie at the heart of Vantage’s culture, and have carried through to become the lifeblood of the company.
Lucy is as energetic outside of work as she is in. Her routine of polo, regular exercise, skiing in the winter months and enjoying time with loved ones keeps her forever busy.
David Barral joined as Vantage’s new Chairman in May 2016, leaving his former position as Chief Executive Officer of Aviva’s UK and Ireland Life insurance arms.
With an illustrious career in finance spanning 35 years, David boasts a strong track record in growing businesses through intermediaries and a wealth of strategic leadership and operational experience.
David’s appointment aligned with a significant period of growth for Vantage, and as Chairman, his focus lies with helping to sustainably grow the business’ various sectors and identify new opportunities to enter adjacent markets.
Outside of Vantage, David is a non-executive director of LV=, non-executive chairman of Virgin Wines, a former Chairman of the ABI Retirement and Savings Committee and a regular contributor to Speakers for Schools, the independent education charity. David is also a keen golfer and is known to have a few championship trophies in his cabinet at home.
James joined Vantage in August 2016, leaving his long-term post as CFO of Fitch Learning, a division of the Fitch Group, providing web-based financial services to blue chip organisations around the globe.
As Vantage’s Finance Director, James brings his invaluable experience across a range of c-suite roles to help manage and measure Vantage’s financial success, with the aim of steering the business towards its ambitious growth plans.
James has led an impressive career in financial services that has revolved around people-focused, professional services businesses. He is a chartered accountant and has managerial experience in finance across a number of industries including domiciliary care, ecommerce, and medical devices.
Outside of the world of finance, James enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his 8-year old son’s football team and playing golf.
Mark was born and grew up in Belfast but moved to Buckinghamshire at the age of 11 due to his Father’s work commitments.
Mark is responsible for identifying and managing operational risks encountered by the firm as well as creating & implementing the procedures and policies which maintain Vantage’s ethical and compliant business conduct.
He is the main contact for Complaints handling and ensures that all staff are coached on their regulatory obligations to maintain high service standards for our customers.
Mark independently completed the Chartered Insurance Institute’s CF6 certification on Mortgage Advice in June 2014 in order to deepen his knowledge of advice, underwriting and the governing regulations.
Previously, Mark was a Tour Manager for a globally touring rock band, a position which has taken him across Europe, Australia, Japan and Thailand.
Mark enjoys playing drums and guitar at home (much to the dismay of his Fiancée!), and maintains an unhealthy obsession with exotic coffee and hot sauce.
Laura has been involved with Vantage Finance since 2007, and joined the team permanently in 2011. Her role focuses on new enquiries, as well as underwriting new applications and reviewing existing cases to ensure a swift completion. Laura also oversees Vantage Finance’s team of advisers to ensure the business maintains its excellent service standards.
When she’s at work, there is nothing Laura loves more than finding the solution to a challenging case. Great service is what drives Laura and her team and she believes it’s what sets Vantage apart – the team will do everything in its power to make a deal work for your client, regardless of the loan size.
Outside of work Laura is a big fan of holidays, cooking and spending time with friends and family.
